Whether you’re a pleasure skier, deep snow fan, ski tourer or snowboarder – the picturesque Spitzingsee-Tegernsee Alpenplus ski resort has ten lifts and 20 kilometres of pistes. Thanks to modern snow-making facilities, a skiing holiday in Germany is a real pleasure.

Ski courses and rental stations at Spitzingsee:

Various ski and snowboard schools located directly at the Stümpfling and Kurvenlift valley stations open up the joy of skiing to beginners and children. Rental stations supply all the equipment you need. A free ski bus takes you from the hotel directly to the lifts and back. Departure for hotel guests is at the bus stop directly opposite the hotel at Spitzingsee church. For information about departure times, contact our reception or check our hotel app.

Night skiing on the Stümpfling:

The Stümpfling ski lift is floodlit on Thursdays and Fridays from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., weather permitting. The slopes are freshly prepared for the evening.
Floodlights bathe the piste in perfect light. Hot drinks and small snacks are available in the Jagahütt’n at the top of the Stümpfling or at the base camp at the valley station.

Chalets at Spitzingsee:

Enjoy a warm Bavarian welcome in one of the numerous chalets in the Spitzingsee area. Food and drink tastes good here in the mountains, where regional specialities are often served!

Cross-country skiing at Spitzingsee

Whether classic or skating – cross-country skiing fans will find many opportunities to test their limits at Spitzingsee and in neighbouring Bayrischzell.
You will find two areas directly by the Spitzingsee:
the cross-country ski run at the Kurvenlift, around 800 metres from the hotel, as well as the cross-country ski runs in the Valepp. These are around a ten-minute walk from the hotel. Here, after a spin in the fresh air, you can stop off in numerous Alpine pastures and enjoy the sun and the mountain panorama.
Our neighbouring municipality of Bayrischzell also offers a perfectly developed network of over 100 km of cross-country trails. The trails there take you to attractive, beautiful valleys, through the snow-covered winter forest and across wide, spacious meadows and Alpine pastures. The start point is easy to reach by car or bus in about 20 minutes.

Ski tours at Spitzingsee

A special highlight

Ski tourers, snowshoe hikers or splitboarders all get their money’s worth at Spitzingsee. Classic skiing around the Taubenstein stopped a few winters ago, meaning that off-piste adventures await you with plenty of scope for extended off-piste ski tours. The focus is on nature-friendly ski touring. Many ascent tracks are marked and wildlife protection zones are designated.
Personal responsibility, avalanche transceiver equipment and knowledge of the avalanche situation are essential for a great day of touring.

The most beautiful ski tours around Spitzingsee

Ski tour on the Rosskopf

Start at the Stümpfling ski lift and head south. After a short descent down to the Valepplift, the ski skins go on. Then head in a south-easterly direction along the track towards the edge of the forest. Pass the Albert Link Cabin on the left, and then follow the slope uphill, cross a stream and follow the signs to the Rosskopf summit via the Grünsee ski slope. Then descend northwards via the Rosskopf and Stümpfling ski slopes back to the railway car park.

Ascent: 1:45 hours / 570 metres of elevation
Difficulty: easy – family-friendly
Avalanche danger: moderate

Ski tour to the Taubenstein

This time start at the car park of the Taubenstein cable car and first of all climb steeply over the lower Lochgraben on the former piste up to the Taubenstein. The tour is mostly moderately steep on the old ski slope of the Taubenstein lift up to the Taubenstein mountain station and on to the summit. Arriving at the mountain station, go behind the building towards the Taubenstein summit. Remove skis and continue on foot for the last few metres to the summit. Caution: the summit area is very steep and there is a risk of falling! The descent follows the ascent trail.

Ascent: 2:00 hours / 590 metres of elevation
Difficulty: medium – family-friendly, except for the summit area
Avalanche danger: low

Ski tour to the Jägerkamp

Our ski tour to the Jägerkamp again starts at the Taubenstein car park and first of all leads us quite steeply over the old ski slope to a forest clearing. Here turn left, past the Wildes Fräulein, in the direction of Schönfeldalm. Continue uphill towards the summit ridge and then northwest to the summit cross of the Jägerkamp. The descent follows the ascent trail

Tobogganing at Spitzingsee

Tobogganing for the whole family

Always fun – tobogganing at Spitzingsee! Exercise in the fresh air with friends or the whole family. After a short rest, you can comfortably sledge back down to the valley. Great fun for everyone.

Our tobogganing tips for you

Obere Firstalm
You can reach the Obere Firstalm directly from the hotel in about 1.5 hours, where a natural toboggan run approx. 2.5 km long awaits you. Perfect for families with children.

Rotwand
A more demanding tour leads to the Rotwandhaus. The ascent takes around two hours from the hotel and the route is around 4.5 km long. The high elevation of the Spitzingsee means that the cable car is fairly reliable in snowy weather. Typical homemade Alpine specialties await you in the Rotwandhaus.
A sportier day tour with great views of the surrounding mountains all the way to Austria.

Wallbergbahn by the Tegernsee
Germany’s longest winter natural toboggan run can be found by the neighbouring Tegernsee.
The Wallberg cable car takes you comfortably to the mountain station, where a 6.5 km long toboggan run awaits you.
Around a 35-minute drive from the hotel. Fast sledges can be hired on site for a fee.
